Lamb Leg Steak

Leg Steak Ingredients

  • 2 Leg of lamb steaks
  • 1/2 tbsp Olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste for seasoning

Marinade

  • 1 cup dark ale such as a porter (I used an amber ale and that was also very good)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1tsp of anise seed
  • 1tsp yellow curry
  • 1tsp cumin
  • 1tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1/2tsp pepper

Instructions

1. In a bowl mix together all marinade ingredients except the ale. Whisk in ale slowly until smooth.

2. Cover the lamb steaks in marinade. Use an airtight container or gallon bag. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours.

3. Heat an outdoor grill or skillet to medium heat. Lightly oil surface.

4. Remove lamb steaks from marinade and discard it. Pat the steaks dry and season each side with salt and pepper.

5. Place on grill surface or skillet and cook each side for about 4 min for medium rare (125-130 F) or 5 min for medium.

6. Remove from the heat and let rest for 5 min before serving. You may want to cover them loosely with foil while you wait.

7. Serve with potatoes or veggies and enjoy!
